When the moon fell in love with the sun All was golden in the sky
Somedays I know all too well how Dido felt
So, yeah, subject line says it all. for those of you who are familiar with the story, I seem to have hit a snag- my Aeneas is also my sister Anna, what a dreadful predicament. And alas, i have no stupid little Eros/ cupid to help me, or a pitying love goddess. Somedays i just like the part where Dido curses Aeneas to high heaven all too much. In the Latin, she says "Sic, Sic!"(thus, thus!... i go to my death.. ect.), and with each "sic", she stabs herself.. It is so unbelieveably moving, and beautiful. I had to contain myself from crying in class when we translated it... But, alas, for this poor dido (miserrima est!), there is no recourse... And I cannot just bury the feeling, or kill the emotion. I try, but, unwittingly, I seem to have an outside force nursing the vulnus sub pectore (the wound in my heart, for you non-Latin savvy people)... Whatever is a girl to do when faced with such a situation? Such predicaments are not something i deal well with, most regretably.
And, thus, thus, the drama continues.
And, thus, thus, the drama continues.
